Dabke at AUB

Dabke is a folkloric Lebanese dance. This site documents the Dabke events that we organized at AUB in 2016 and 2017.
On the occasion of AUB's 150th anniversary, we organized the "Longest Dabke In The History of AUB" on Jan 28, 2016. Around three thousands students, faculty members, staff, alumni and guests held hand-in-hand dancing the Lebanese folkloric Dabke symbolizing the team work leading to the great success of AUB. The event was lighted up with the participation of the Lebanese pop star Melhem Zein.
In 2017, the "First Street Dabke Competition at AUB" was organized over two rounds. Nine teams (5-8 members per team) from AUB, Lebanese University (LU), Lebanese American University (LAU), Lebanese International University (LIU), and Hariri High School participated in Round 1 which took place on March 22, 2017. Three teams from AUB, LU, and LIU were qualified to Round 2 which took place on April 28, 2017. The team from LU won the competition.
